Giles HargreaveUK Equity
Giles is head of the UK equity funds team and is a highly experienced small cap investor. He has managed Marlborough Special Situations since 1998 and now runs the fund jointly with Eustace Santa Barbara. Giles is also Co-Manager of the Marlborough UK Micro-Cap Growth and Marlborough Nano-Cap Growth funds.

Guy, a graduate of Oxford University, has over 25 years’ City experience dedicated to the research and fund management of small and mid-cap equities. He joined the investment team in 2003 and has a particular focus on the tech sector and other “New Economy” and growth companies. Guy co-manages the Marlborough UK Micro-Cap Growth Fund with Giles Hargreave.

Richard qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Ernst & Young in 1994 and subsequently joined Singer & Friedlander in 1995 as a UK Equity fund manager. Richard has managed the Marlborough UK Multi-Cap Growth Fund since joining the investment team in 2005.

David graduated with a First Class degree in economics from Cambridge University before joining M&G, where he was a European equities fund manager with responsibility for small/mid caps. In 2000 David joined Baillie Gifford, where he took on responsibility for the European small cap portfolios including the Baillie Gifford European Smaller Companies Fund. David joined the investment team in January 2013 and has managed the Marlborough European Multi-Cap Fund since October 2013.

Will studied Accounting & Finance at Southampton University before joining the investment team in September 2010. He has worked alongside David Walton since January 2015 and was promoted to deputy manager on the Marlborough European Multi-Cap Fund in February 2017. Will holds both the Investment Management Certificate and the Investment Advice Diploma.

Geoff spent nearly 20 years as a tax officer and tax consultant before founding Marlborough Fund Managers in 1986 and launching the Marlborough Global Bond Fund in the following year. He went on to set up the Marlborough Bond Income Fund in 1998.

Nicholas joined the asset management company that went on to become Marlborough Investment Management as a fund manager in 1991. He was responsible for a total reorganisation of its investment processes, leading to significant expansion of the business. Nicholas is Deputy Chairman of Marlborough Fund Managers and Investment Director of Marlborough Investment Management.

In 2009, Matthew was appointed Co-Manager of the Marlborough Extra Income Fund, which he jointly runs with Andrew Moffat.

His career has spanned retail fund management, global economics, asset allocation, institutional equity research and private client wealth management. In summer 2017, Andrew was appointed Co-Manager of the Marlborough Extra Income Fund, which he jointly runs with Matthew Rainbird.

Sally MacdonaldInternational Equity
Sally has been in financial services for over 30 years. She joined Marlborough in 2013 to manage the Marlborough Far East Growth Fund. Prior to joining, Sally worked for City of London Investment Management, was a Partner at Dalton Strategic partnership and led the Asian desk at Morley Fund Management, where she managed over £3.4bn in assets. She has also held positions as an Associate Director at Sanwa International, Head of Asia Pacific Equities at Lazard Brothers Asset Management and ran the Asian desk at Canada Life between November 1997 and 2004. At Canada Life, she ran the Canlife Far East Unit Trust. Sally has a BA (Hons) in Classics and is an associate of the CFA Society of the UK and the CFA institute and a member of the Pensions Management Institute and CISI. Until August 2016, Sally was a Trustee of the Royal College of Nursing Foundation, where she Chaired the Investment Committee. Sally is currently a Trustee on the Board of Helping the Burmese Delta and is a Partner of Stevington Partners.

Jing joined Marlborough in 2014 after working for more than a decade in the financial services industry. She runs the Marlborough Emerging Markets Trust and also assists in the running of the Marlborough Far East Growth Fund. With a wide range of financial services experience, her previous appointments were at Mizuho International, JP Morgan and the Bank of England. Her responsibilities during this period have spanned Equity sales and research, macro-economic research, and Compliance, across a variety of different Asian geographies. Jing has a BSc (Hons) in Banking and International Finance from Cass Business School and an MSc in Economics (Development) from the University of Bath. Jing has passed Level 2 CFA exams and is studying for Level 3.

Gurjit graduated from the University of the West of England with a BA (Hons) in Financial Services and joined the investment team at Marlborough in 1996. He works closely with Nicholas Cooling and has developed a pragmatic and research-driven investment style.

Raj graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a BA (Hons) in Financial Services and joined Marlborough’s funds of funds team in 2003. His enthusiasm and drive enabled him to be fast-tracked to a fund management role within a year. Raj is a CFA level 3 candidate.
Nigel BaynesFund of ETFs
Nigel started his career in the industry as a software specialist developing portfolio management solutions for an asset management company. He worked as an investment analyst and then fund manager before setting up iFunds in 2001. With the growth in the ETF market, and ongoing development of the company’s proprietary software based investment process, iFunds was able to team up with Marlborough and launch a range of actively managed ETF funds.

Stacey has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. He has worked both on the fund management and marketing side of the business and holds the Securities Institute Securities and Derivatives Certificates as well as the Investment Management Certificate. He has been a director of Aberdeen Unit Trust Management and more recently a director of IG Index, where he was a participant in its management buyout. Stacey Joined iFunds in 2004. He heads up the marketing side of the business and maintains his involvement in the investment management process.
