Sid Chand Lall makes the case for UK equity income on FundCalibre

Marlborough Multi Cap Income Manager Sid Chand Lall has highlighted the case for UK equity income in an article published by fund ratings agency FundCalibre.

He said recent research by broker Panmure Gordon showed valuations of UK companies are on an average discount of 18% to comparable businesses in other developed markets.

Sid believes UK companies look highly attractive at current valuations and he does not believe this discount will last forever.

He said the discount is even higher among the smaller companies the fund favours and adds that, historically, these businesses have achieved substantially stronger share price growth than their larger counterparts over the long term. When dividend income is taken into account, this outperformance is significantly greater, he adds.
